The third installment of the venerable GTA series
The third 3D game in the Grand Theft Auto series, San Andreas, moves the action from Vice City's 1980s to a 1990s hip hop world of gangsters and hoodlums.
A wide universe of opportunities
You take on the role of Carl Johnson, who has been away from his hometown of Los Santos for five years. Many things have changed over the years, so Carl sets out to restore his gang's reputation and power. The gameplay of GTA: San Andreas is reminiscent of previous GTA games, with several theatrical cut scenes, interesting missions, and a ton of minigames scattered around an area that players may explore at their leisure.
The size is the primary characteristic that characterizes GTA: San Andreas. It is really ambitious and is set in a sizable state with three major cities and lots of rural areas. There is a lot more to accomplish on top of the massive campaign. Although the plot—a rags to riches tale—is not very original, it is well told with superb acting and a large cast of endearing and humorous characters. The radio stations are fantastic, playing a terrific combination of songs from the 1990s and amusing commercials.
Several annoying gameplay elements
Some people may find GTA: San Andreas to be annoying at times. It takes too long to prepare Carl's lungs for swimming underwater, and racing automobiles in rural areas may be extremely slippery. The nicest parts of the game and how much fun it is to wander the state, take in the sights, and wreak havoc make up for some of the missions' little irritations.
A absolutely incredible game
Sandbox gaming hasn't been the same since GTA: San Andreas. Although it has several gameplay issues and is a fairly violent, adult-oriented game, the total accomplishment and enjoyment you may have from playing it are pretty much unmatched.
PROS
Massive world to explore.
Great story and writing.
Lots of missions and activities.
Absorbing from the start.
CONS
Occasional dull missions.
Some frustrating gameplay issues.
